Music is exciting in itself and it can literally change lives, as Vincent shows with all the stories that he shares here. I love that fact that now when I listen to some songs I also remember those stories. In a certain way, this book changed the way I see, hear and feel music!!! Loved it!!!

An inspiring little gem!

This book is an inspiring little gem! Of course everyone knows how important music is, but when I flipped through and started reading a few of these stories, some of them really blew my socks off, like the story about the overweight high school girl who was encouraged to sing in a school performance and astonished her classmates, then went on to become a Grammy-winning artist. The great thing about this book for ADD types like me is how short each story is. I can open up the book to any page and gobble up a few great stories, and at the same time become acquainted with a great many artists, some famous, some not. All of them offer their own unique approach to the simple question "What makes music important to you"...probably as unique as their music. And their stories are touching and personal.

I heartily recommend this book for anyone - be they musician or listener. Just buy it:)

This book is an introductory text on chemogenomics by giving an bird-eye view of the field from three perspective: chemical, biological and informatics for their application in drug discovery. The first few chapters describes basic concept and methodology of HTS, phenotypic screen and high-content screen. The latter part of the book emphasizes the application of chemoinformatics in analyzing HT data, virtual screening, and hit selection. Overall, the book provide a good introduction in chemogenomics at the undergraduate level and layman who want to understand chemogenomics.

Old, Over-priced and of No Practical Value

I have two of the author's books and, for the most part, they are of little or
no value to the average person ( sufferer ). This book goes into
much detail illustrating various parts of the spine and a few of
the arm and hand primarily for physicians' and therapists'
benefit.

Other than mentioning traction, slings, ice packs, drugs and
injections, there is only one reference to self-help : pendular
exercises of the arm - but no explanation or diagrams.

A recommended book is HEALTHY SHOULDER HANDBOOK
by Dr. Karl Knopf. It contains over 300 photographs to com-
plement 100 exercises for self-treatment of various shoulder
problems.

Good for those new to saving at CVS

I appreciate the free download of this new e-book by Amanda Grossman AKA the Frugal Confessions blogger for the Houston Chronicle. It was well-written and -organized and an easy read. Most of the information is not new to someone like me who has been saving at CVS for some time but would be very helpful for those just getting started. There were a couple of things that I learned, including the order of the discounts, which could save me a few cents here and there. Thanks for sharing!

The time was ripe then when an international workshop dedicated to the physical oceanography of the Adriatic Sea was convened in Trieste on 21-25 September 1998. Its objectives were to assess the current knowledge of the oceanography of the Adriatic Sea, to review the newly acquired observations, to create syn ergy between model simulations and observations, and to identify directions for future Adriatic oceanography. This book, however,is not the mere proceedings of the workshop. It was written as a monograph synthetizing the current knowledge of the physical oceanography of the Adriatic Sea, with the hope that it will serve as a reference to anyone interested in the Adriatic. The book also identifies topics in need of additional inquiry and proposes research directions for the next decade.

Success does Leave Clues

I purchased this book for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, because I have had the distinct pleasure of working with the author in the past, indirectly, and he is always so knowledgeable, insightful, and inspiring. Second reason for my purchase was to challenge myself to doing things differently in 2014. It starts off by taking you through the five steps to learning and retention, how to market yourself, building a business plan/model, the psychology of why people buy, how customers see us, how much are you worth?, the main purpose of your business, four ways to grow your business, how much are our customers really worth? This was a great afternoon read. Miguel puts it in basic terms that easily executable and easily identifiable. Whether you a new manager or a tenured manager, I highly recommend this. Even for myself, I have been in management for many years but finding myself in some uncharted waters and this book really helped clear some thing for me and will be put to good use for 2014.

Great takeaways and not just more of the same

I've read a lot of books that claim they are going to help me reach my maximum potential, so I was skeptical that this one would be any different. I am happy to say this book was anything but "more of the same." There were multiple take-aways for me from this book, but the one that stood out the most was the chapter on the different types of salespeople. As a business owner, I know that sales is a part of my focus, whether I like it or not. Miguel's breakdown was so insightful and allowed me to find a way to implement a style that fit me.
