Book 4 -- the best so far....

This is the fourth book in the "Empty World Series" written by David K. Anderson, and in my judgement, it is the best he has written thus far. The dialogue between the characters, the pace of the book, the mysteries and suspense, all combine to keep you racing to find out what will happen next. Because it is a series, it is best if you have already read the previous books in the series as the characters are not fleshed out as much as they would be in a stand alone book. Followers of the series will know of the problems which have come before, and what each of the strengths of the characters are, and the relationship of each of them to each other.
I hate reading reviews that tell you what happens, so let me just say that the heroine, Christy Walker, 14, along with her father and grand father, and some of her friends, once again travel through the portal to another world to find their missing friend. The action never stops, and it keeps you interested all the way through. Each chapter was a page turner, and chores were pushed aside. I hated having to do anything except read it to its conclusion.
If you have a preteen or a young adult, or if you are like me, and just like an interesting series, I highly recommend this book/series. I love that it is family friendly book -- good for all ages, young and old.

A Fan for LIFE!

I thought book 4 was just as amazing as books 1, 2, 3! Many cliff hangers, and that CORY is very bullheaded however he's come a long way in his character -- he can only get better! I love that each book speaks to a different disability and all the trials & tribulations that one can have when faced with such things. Christy is growing into one very intuitive young lady. I'm hoping they'll locate grandpa! I wonder when one of the "moms" will take a trip through the portal???? tks for everything DKA, and keep on writing! dmacdazy

A really good read!

This is the best by far of the series. The author has developed the original storyline making the other world more of a planet and explained many of the original properties and plot devices. The characters are bigger and more unique individuals. The conflicts are believable and the qualities each of the characters bring to their resolution are exciting.
