Great read that didn't take a ton of time but gave me a lot of valuable information.

I love reading these lighting guides. They're a fantastic way to get a lot of information in short amount of time. This one was a interesting read as it has crossed my mind from time to time how exact did Uber, lyft, and Airbnb get started. This past June I used all three while visiting Nashville. I start to wonder at times it had to be something so simple that started a business that is now booming. Well it was the back bone of crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing can improve productivity and creativity. This is exactly what it done and these businesses like a few others have taken off. Now you hear about them a lot more often than you did a year or two ago. People are making money the simple way while using these outlet sources. It's neat learning how it all came together. You should read the book and find out more for yourself.

Crowdsourcing at its best.

As someone who doesn't really have any reason to use crowdsourcing, this was surprisingly an enjoyable read. It taught me more than just how to raise funds for companies and programs. It teaches you the in's and out's of the individual ways to raise the funds you may need. This book teaches you how these companies started and how they came to be as big as they are. It is also very well written and immediately draws you in. I was already aware of Kickstarter but this showed me so many other companies that are essentially similar to your needs in raising money for your company or program of interest. I was thoroughly pleased with how this book explained everything! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about crowdsourcing or using it themselves. This will explain everything you want to know. I received this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. This opinion is 100% my own.

From Adnan Khashoggi to Judith Regan - quite a tale in 122 pages!

Like a previous reviewer, I did the 'Better Together' promotion which paired Patrick Riley's "One-Page Proposal" with Tom Sant's book. How good is Riley's book? Five pages into it, I literally pitched Sant's book. Nothing against Mr. Sant's work. I was just so smitten with Riley's approach and take on things that I didn't want a competing model to diminish the clarity of it.

I have to say, Riley crafts a real "you had me at hello" moment with a riveting opening tale of how he first was introduced to the method: by none other than Adnan Khashoggi. That's what gives the method its credibility. You have to imagine a guy like Khashoggi getting bombarded with proposals, most of them long, overwrought, wordsmithed to death and - more often than not - completely ignored by their target. Khashoggi's message? "You want to get my attention, here's how."

Riley ends the book by showing you the one-page proposal sent to Judith Regan about writing a book for her publishing house, i.e., the book that you're holding in your hands. It goes without saying: the Regan pitch was another successful proposal.

So, this is more than just another boring how-to business cookbook. Any work that manages to weave together Adnan Khashoggi with Judith Regan definitely has my attention. Patrick Riley deserves your attention, too. His book is worth your time and money.

This Is Genius!

Ultra successful entrepreneur and business leader, Patrick Riley, has carved out a masterpiece with this book. He's also done what true geniuses have a knack for doing; he's taken the complicated and made it simple.
"The One-Page Proposal" is NOT just for sales and business people, but let's start there.
How many of us have, at one time or another, submitted proposals (solicited and/or unsolicited) that were written out over numerous pages, complete with graphics and all the bells and whistles, and thought, "Wow - this has got to impress my prospect", only to find out we didn't even make the first cut?
I know many sales and business people who now cringe at the thought of even being asked to submit a proposal because, quite frankly, they know they are going to spend hours and hours writing it, and then not even have it seriously considered.
This is where Patrick Riley comes in.
He will show you how to "craft" - and I do mean craft - a one-page proposal which is incredibly persuasive. Never again will sales and business people who read this book be trapped into writing long, mind-bending proposals that don't get read (and, the author, early in the book, explains why it is that so many of these types of proposals never do get read) and, instead, will be the person who stands out above the crowd.
But, as Mr. Riley advises us; don't confuse briefness with a lack of preparation. He lays out a game plan for research and preparation. The more you know in advance, the easier it is for your one-page proposal to be a winner.
As alluded to earlier, this book is not just for the salesperson asked to submit proposals, or for the business person trying to find a financial backer. It's for anyone and everyone!
What a valuable gift to give to your children looking to find a job. They will have the "unfair advantage" in their job search. It will be difficult for anyone to compete with their one-page job proposal (please do not confuse it with a resume; it's an entirely different "animal").
The person starting low on the totem pole in their company can utilize the one-page proposal to submit their ideas and begin the process of advancement through adding value.
"The One-Page Proposal" is a complete communication tool. It is benefits-oriented (the "other person's" benefits, which is what is important) and self-clarifying.
I was glued to practically every page of this book By the way, one terrific thing he (or the publisher) decided to do is to format it giant-sized in shape, while only 100 pages in length. This makes it very easy to read, and with lots of room for highlighting and note-taking, of which I know I did plenty. And, the examples of actual one-page proposals in the back are excellent, and very duplicable.
"The One-Page Proposal" will occupy a space right near my computer, as I'll refer to it continually throughout the rest of my business career. Meanwhile, I'll most likely by a lot of them to give as gifts.
This book, plain and simply, is a winner!

The book contains a lot of useful advice based on Scott's experience running a business and research on the business. Examples include how to get started, what to expect, realistic profit calculations, reviews and recommendations of vending machines, where to purchase them, the pros and cons of candy choices, where to purchase candy, etc.

He thinks like a business person and provides the reader with his experiences from the perspective of his successful business.

The book is an excellent read and is highly recommended to anyone thinking of getting into the business or curious about the candy vending machine business.

I thoroughly enjoy this book. Each time I pick it up, I get something new from it. I mostly love that It is written in layman's terms so anyone can understand it from start to finish. In my opinion, it covers all areas from A to Z. It informs of all positives and even of the negatives. The author is highly knowledgeable about the content and has an excellent demeanor as well. It lists all the nuts and bolts of going into this from novice to expert levels. He gives excellent advice on business in other areas as well. I highly recommend this book-even if you are only curious about becoming a Confectioner; everyone can grasp something from this book!

I have recently been bouncing the idea around of getting into the vending industry as a way to bring in extra cash flow and possibly an escape for the future. This book really laid out all all the facts for me.... I have decided and will be moving forward with my vending venture!!!

About the Author
Master Waysun Liao studied t’ai chi in a Taoist temple in his native Taiwan from the age of twelve. He is the founder and master of the Taichi Tao Center in Oak Park, Illinois, where he has taught for nearly forty years.

Beautiful Book

This is one of those books that you will want to read again, or just open up and start reading from any point. It is a very relaxing book to read and teaches you how to understand your life energy and how day to day life can drain it into non-existence. Then Waysun Liao teaches ways to feel and preserve your chi in a very simplistic way. It is a great book for setting the basics. It made me want to search out other books to further explore life energy.

A bit extreme but ok.

It's very detailed about the existence of Chi, ways to feel it and restore it. But it's also a bit religious fanatic on some points if you notice it.
Obviously it's the reader's choice to consider or not, those parts of the book. But I had to report. In general it's a must have book, very helpful and if you're
up to the challenge make sure to read the next 2 books. T'ai Chi Classiscs, and The Essence of T'ai Chi.
